In 2007 he made the final stages of the UK Championship where he lost in the first round to Joe Swail. He also qualified for 2007 World Snooker Championship (his first ever last-32 run in a ranking event), where he lost to Matthew Stevens 10–2, though in winning the second of his two frames he recovered from a large deficit.
