José "Jochy" Santos (born 6 June 1954) is a Dominican comic actor, presenter and producer. Santos is considered the pioneer in interactive radio programs mixed with humor in the Dominican Republic.[1]
Santos gained fame in his country as co-host of a nightly program called El Show de la Noche together with fellow presenter and comedian J. Eduardo Martínez in the late 1980s. From 1996 to 2000, he consolidated his popularly particular way of doing the radio program Botando El Golpe (currently El Mismo Golpe con Jochy). From 1999 on television for the second time with his program Divertido con Jochy.[2]
He is well known for its distinctive laugh, which is longer repetitions and pausing as a laugh.[3]
