Joaquim Devanir Ferreira do Carmo (born 1 July 1970 in São Paulo), commonly known as King is a former Brazilian footballer who played as a centre back.
Career
King started his career in Braga, before moving to Farense, where his gained mild notability.[1] In 1995, Farense loans him to Benfica, where he would play only 1 match, in 12 September 1995, against Lierse S.K..[2]
He later moved to Spain, playing briefly in Atletico Madrid reserve team, before returning to Farense. At 31 years, he terminated his contract and signed with Algeciras, playing 2 years in Segunda Division B, ending his career in 2009, age 39, after several seasons in Greek football.[3][4][5]
After retiring, King was hired as an assistant manager in Panathinaikos. He later quit his post and joined Veria staff, as assistant of Ton Caanen and also as a translator. Till today he remains a member of Veria's staff.
