Yang Jung-yoon (Hangul: 양정윤; born July 30, 1991), who uses the stage name Jiyul (Hangul: 지율), is a South Korean singer and actress. She is a member of the South Korean girl group Dal Shabet.[1]

Early life

Jiyul was born on July 30, 1991, in Seoul, South Korea. She attended Dongduk Women's University.

Jiyul made her official debut with her fellow members in Dal Shabet on January 3, 2011.[2]

Solo activities

On November 3, 2011, Jiyul became a host of SBS MTV's K-Pop 20.[3]

Jiyul made a cameo appearance in the 2012 film, Papa, where she played the role of Mila, a top star Park Yong-woo's character manages who ran away and he chases after in America.[4][5]

Her first major acting role was in the short film, Her Story, where she was cast as the female lead.[6]

She participated in the celebrity edition of MasterChef Korea, which premiered on February 22, 2013.[7]

Personal life

In 2013, Jiyul suffered from an ankle injury which resulted in her not being able to join her members in performing at the WAPOP K-Dream Concert (Wow Asia Pop, Korea Dream Concert) which was held on October 26.[8][9]
