James Franklin Wong[1] (born March 28, 1987)[2][3] is an American actor, musician, and filmmaker. He maintains four YouTube channels "Jimmy Wong", "jimmy", "Jimmy2", and "Feast of Fiction". He is the younger brother of fellow YouTuber and filmmaker Freddie Wong.[1][2] He also appears in the TV show Video Game High School as Ted Wong.
Early life
Wong grew up in Seattle, Washington, and graduated from Middlebury College in Vermont.[4]
Career
Wong majored in theatre and drama at Middlebury College. After graduating, he moved to Los Angeles to become an actor.[4] He has appeared in a number of web series, including Video Game High School[5] and MyMusic.[6] Wong also acted in the feature film John Dies at the End.
Wong has uploaded a number of songs and music videos to his main YouTube channel "Jimmy Wong". The most viewed video is a musical retort to a UCLA student's vlog rant against Asian students in the library.[7] "Ching Chong! Asians in the Library Song (Response to UCLA's Alexandra Wallace)" was uploaded March 15, 2011, and has over 5.1 million views as of September 2014.[8] Wong regularly produces and releases music to the channel, it has over 230 thousand subscribers as of September 2014.[9]
Wong also maintains the YouTube channels "Jimmy2" and "Feast of Fiction". "Jimmy2" host vlogs by Wong, it has over 55 thousand subscribers as of September 2014.[10] "Feast of Fiction" is a cooking channel that makes real-life versions of fictional food, Wong co-hosts with Ashley Adams and it has over 240 thousand subscribers as of September 2014.[11] Wong is also involved with "RocketJump". In 2014, Wong was listed on New Media Rockstars Top 100 Channels, ranked at #73.[12]
