Jim Mello has been an American football official in the National Football League (NFL) since the 2004 NFL season, who wears uniform number 48. He currently works as a head linesman. For the 2014 NFL season, Mello is the head linesman on the crew headed by referee Brad Allen.[1]

Over his NFL career, Mello has officiated in eight playoff games including two Conference Championship games.[2]

Mello has also officiated in Super Bowl XLVIII on February 2, 2014 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.[3]
