Jhulelal Institute of Technology (JIT) is an Engineering and Management college under the Nagpur University, Nagpur, India. The college was established in 2008. It is named after community God of Sindhi people-Jhulelal (Sindhi/Urdu: جهوللال), (Sanskrit: झूलेलाल) or Dariyalal.
Jhulelal Institute of Technology is promoted by Samridhi Sarwajanik Charitable Trust with a view to provide excellent engineering educational opportunity to the youth of Central India, especially to the Sindhi community. The functional organization of the trust is very promising.Situated in a congenial natural setting, 12 km. away from the zero mile, Nagpur, the peaceful environment in the campus provides ideal atmosphere for academic pursuit, concentrated studies and research.

Campus
JIT campus is located at 5.5 km from Koradi Naka. The campus is divided into two of buildings. The academic area chiefly comprises the main building and another building where Auditorium is located. The institute has basketball, volleyball and badminton courts. It also has an indoor games facility for students, where they play table tennis, carrom, chess and cards.

Inauguration of College Building
- On September 29, 2012 JIT College Building was inaugurated with the hands of BJP National President Nitinji Gadkari.Also MLA Vikas Kumbhare, NMC Standing Committee Chairman Dayashankar Tiwari, MLA Vijay Ghodmare, MLA Chandrashekhar Bawankhule, Devendra Fadnavis, Sunil Kedar, Mayor Anil Sole are present as guest.

- Jhulelal Institute of Technology, has made an exponential progress in the academic performance within a short span of merely three years since inception in 2008. The ranking of JIT in the list of colleges for BE first year summer exam result has moved from 19th in first year (2009), 9th in second year (2010), to 2nd position in the third year (2011) amongst 56 colleges of Nagpur University(RTMNU).
- Continuing with the tradition of exemplary performance in university examination, the students of Jhulelal Institute of Technology, Nagpur, have once again performed splendidly, in B.E. I Yr examination conducted by RTMNU. The college has secured second position with overall passing percentage of 58.67% as against 35.95% of Nagpur University.

Technical Activities
Shikhar- A National Level Tech-Fest

- A National Level Tech-Fest ‘SHIKHAR’ conducted every year for Engineering & Management Student where more than thousands of students from various Engineering & Management colleges across India participate. It is organized at JIT campus under the aegis of ISTE, JIT Students Chapter.Around 1000 students from 36 engineering colleges from Pune & Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh Universities along with students from Chandrapur, Wardha, Gondia & Yavatmal districts engineering colleges participated in it. It is a Technical Event where various competitions like C-Coding, Web Designing, Project Exhibition, Robo-Race, Line Follower Wall Follower and LAN Gaming are held.
- Total 179 Technical Papers were presented by students in parallel sessions and projects too were displayed. Participants from various branches such as Electronics, Electrical, Computer Science, IT, Mechanical, Civil & MBA etc. are participated. Around 200 students along with their robot participated in the event.
Workshop on Aptitude Development (WAD)
The workshop shall consists of technical sessions by experts along with the interactive and participative sessions for the students on various topics including following- 1.Analytical Ability 2.English Language 3.Aptitude Building 4.Group Discussion Techniques 5.Public Speaking 6.Personal Interview Techniques. 7.Logical Thinking & Reasoning.
- A principals' discussion panel on “Personality Development in Technical Education” was organized in WAD. Emphasized on the importance of being Focused.Students were given valuable inputs & were evaluated for their performance in social skills by eminent panelist during WAD.
- In 2012 WAD-DIP Dr. Vilas Sapkal, Vice Chancellor of Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University(RTMNU). Mr. Anil Malviya, senate member, RTMNU was the guest of honor of the function. Dr. Vilas Sapkal in his address guided the students with proper career opportunities and he also mentioned what to do after their graduation. He also talked about the new developments in the Nagpur University which will be beneficial for the students. He answered the queries of all the students regarding syllabus, fees structure and time taken for services provided by the University.
Jallosh - Culture Festival
- JIT-Jallosh is an annual culture festival organized every year by the college. Cultural activities like singing, dancing, rangoli, art, quiz, debate, personality also mark an important feature in the life of a student. Singing and Dancing have always been very popular in the student at JIT. JITians actively participating in quizzing and debating activities.
- JIT-Jallosh includes events like "BRAIN BOX"- a general quiz competition. The RUPAK-singing competition. The next event was ICON student personality competition for male and female ICON of JIT.
- Then "WORD WAR"- Debate competition followed by Sur-Sangram-antakshari. JIT-JALLOSH ended with the event named THIRKAN-Dance competition.
Mythbusters - Talent & Byond
- It was a five-day mega youth event organised by JIT students (Anurag Deshpande, Anup N Nair, Nikhil Vanjani, Sanket S Parma, Shashwath Kamath & Abhijeet Shiwankar). Around 800 students from about 60 colleges in and around Nagpur participated in this event. The event took place at various locations around Nagpur. The event tested the students on various aspects such as team-building, social, mental, physical skills.
Social Activities
National Service Scheme - NSS at JIT
- National Service Scheme, under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports Govt. of India, popularly known as NSS was launched in Gandhiji's Birth Centenary Year 1969, in 37 Universities involving 40,000 students with primary focus on the development of personality of students through community service.
- JIT have a very active NSS unit, wherein various activities like blood donation camps, stationary distribution to Prathamik Shala children in Lonara village, old garment distribution to poor & needy people in Lonara & Gumtala village, polio awareness program. This helps the students to groom as responsible citizens and also enjoy the pleasure of giving.

- Tree Plantation Programme
Rotaract Club at JIT
- An installation ceremony of Rotaract club of Nagpur took place in JIT on 15 August 2009 by the hands of Shri Sanjay Meshram, chief guest of the function. The Rotaract Club comes under Rotary Club, Nagpur, Ishanya. Shri Kamal Taori, Director of Youth Services; Rtn Naresh Jain, President Nagpur – Ishanya; Shri. Pramod Pampatwar, Secretary of Rotary Club, Nagpur; Shri Mahesh Sadhwani, Chairman SSCT; Dr. S.V. Gole, Vice-principal JIT; Shri Virendra Kukreja, Secretary SSCT graced the function with their presence.Installation was followed by Tree Plantation.

- Polio Awareness Camp: The NSS Department of JIT and Rotract club of Nagpur arranged a camp for spreading awareness regarding one of the deadliest diseases “POLIO”. About 40 members together assembled on JIT ground and then proceeded to the nearby villages. The members divided themselves in groups of five and then worked for noble cause encouraging the villagers of Gumthala and Lonara village near JIT to take their children for polio drops.
- Teaching Campaign: The Rotaract club of Jhulelal Institute of Technology had organized a "Teaching Campaign" at Bokahara.Where in the students of class I-VII grade had a 'fun filled learning' experience with the members. The two-hour teaching session ended with the distribution of biscuits and sweets. The campaign involved twenty Rotaract members of JIT.
- In Rotaract club students were taught about development about personality development, time management and leadership skills.

Zeal - Department Electronics and Telecommunications
- A state level mini project competition "Rhapsodize" was organised at JIT on 1 March 2011 by CS/IT & ETC departments under the forum Encyphrist & Zeal. Students from various colleges participated in the events. The event was commenced in computer center of college. And prizes were distributed.
Sports
Department of Physical Education
- The main objective of the Department of Physical Education, JIT is to develop overall personality of the student by cultivating social habits in them through NSS & Rotaract. The department is having various indoor & outdoor sports facilities. This year the students of JIT participated in various sports organized by RTM Nagpur University and showed remarkable performance as compared to other new colleges.
- It is aptly said that college is not only about paper qualifications but the overall development of an individual to emerge as leaders of tomorrow with strong character. Believing this the department of physical education has given its student a platform to exhibit their skills. The main motto of the department is to get maximum participation from the students and make the student aware about the present competition. The year 2101-2011 has seen a phenomenal rise in the activities in college in terms of both quality and volume.
