Jhinjhar (Haryana)

Jhinjhar is a village in the district Bhiwani, Haryana. It is a small village established by a Rajput family of Parmar dynasty. It is established thakur Harisingh Parmar who came from another small village, Bond Kalan; his descendants (vansaj) are still present in the village known as Parmar Rajputs (or Pawar Rajputs). Under the name Thakur Hari Singh Parmar there are still a series of fields (khets) between charkhi dadri tempo stand (adda) and bhiwani bus stand (adda) along both sides of a road which connects Jhinjhar via village Achina Taal. These fields are known as Haryasar Khets. Later he donated much of his land to the brahmin families and other castes. Hari Singh Parmar's 23rd successors are currently present in Jhinjhar. A Sati Chatri (monument memory of a dead person usually on the place of their cremation) of his wife and mother are in the village known as the "thakuro ki sati".
