Jessore Cantonment College

Jessore Cantonment College is a military college located in Arabpur, Jessore, Bangladesh covering 20 acres. Established in 1969, the college, which has 2000 students and 65 teachers, is regulated by the cantonment board and the Bangladesh Army. The principal is Borhanus Sultan.

Academics

Jessore Cantonment College was certified as the best educational institution in National Education Week, 2002. Higher secondary subjects include Science, Commerce and Arts programmes; the college also offers Honours courses, including Bengali, Social Work, Islamic History, Islamic Studies, Accounting, Management, B.B.A., and Mathematics. College-level computer education was introduced in 1994. The computer department provides students with internet facilities. Students must have at least 75% attendance to take part in internal examinations.

Student life

College activities begin at 8:15 a.m., when all students assemble in school dress. Boys' dress consists of white shirt, blue pants, and black shoes; girls wear navy kameez, white salwar, and white Keds or black shoes. Students wear epaulets corresponding to their House at the college - (Michael Madhusudan Dutta, Kazi Najrul Islam, or Jasim Uddin). The classes start at 8:30 p.m. The houses are overseen directly by teachers. A disciplinary committee handles discipline of the college as a whole.

The admission system is digital. After the publishment of SSC result students can apply through cellphone.
