Jessie Mae Robinson
Jessie Mae Robinson (October 1, 1919 – October 26, 1966) was a songwriter who wrote popular songs for many blues and R & B singers. Among her best-known songs are "I Went to Your Wedding," "Keep It a Secret," "The Other Woman," "Blue Light Boogie," (with Louis Jordan) and "Let's Have a Party."
In 1953, Robinson became the first female African-American member of ASCAP. She had three songs in the Lucky Strike Hit Parade at the same time: "I Went to your Wedding" by Patti Page, "Keep it a Secret" by Jo Stafford, and "Just a Poor Bachelor" by Frankie Laine.
Lana Del Rey covered Robinson's song "The Other Woman" for her 2014 album Ultraviolence.
