Jersey is the debut solo extended play (EP) by American singer-songwriter and actress Bella Thorne, released on November 17, 2014 by Hollywood Records.

Promotion

"Bad Case of U" was featured in the film Mostly Ghostly: Have You Met My Ghoulfriend? which stars Thorne as well as its official soundtrack, which was released September 2, 2014.[2][3] On October 15, 2014, Thorne revealed that her debut album was canceled as she "felt she out grew some of the songs" and she will instead release an EP, titled Jersey, on November 17.[4] In an interview with Access Hollywood, she promoted the EP as very Feminist.[5]

On October 23, Thorne attended a Homecoming Dance at the Aspire Pacific Academy where she announced a song off the EP, entitled "One More Night".[6] The following week, Thorne announced the official track list along with a preview of "Paperweight" and sneak peek of possible album artwork.[7][8]

Reception

Bustle gave a positive review of the EP's song "One More Night", saying "Just might be the teenage singer’s best track yet: it’s got a thumping beat, a killer hook, and it’s super easy to sing along with. What more could you ask for when you’re getting ready for a night on the town?".[9]

Singles

The song "Call It Whatever" was released as the EP's lead single on May 16, 2014. Subsequently, Thorne called into Radio Disney that same afternoon to premiere it on air. The song was released later that night on iTunes, instead of the planned date of May 17, 2014. The music video was directed by Mickey Finnegan.[10][11]

Other songs

Thorne performed "Jersey" in Shall We Dance on Ice, in Bloomington, Illinois, on December 16, 2014, but the song wasn't released as a single.[12]

Track List

On October 28, Thorne posted a picture on her Facebook page from what is possibly behind the scenes of her album cover photoshoot which included the official track list for the EP.[7]
