Jerry Warren (March 10, 1925  August 21, 1988) was an American film director, producer, editor, screenwriter, cinematographer and actor. Warren was noted for his involvement in many cult films. He has been described as "one of cult film's most frustrating and maligned members."[1]

Warren was married to cinematographer Brianne Murphy.[2] Murphy worked with Warren on several of his pictures. They divorced shortly after filming completed on Teenage Zombies in 1959.[3] On August 21, 1988, Warren died of lung cancer in Escondido, California.[4] He was survived by his second wife, Gloria.

Legacy

He is famous as director of several cult films and B-movies that are considered to be hastily made and campy.[5] His films are widely panned by critics, and have been lampooned and ridiculed. The Wild World of Batwoman was spoofed on Mystery Science Theater 3000, and his 1959 horror film Teenage Zombies was featured on the documentary The 50 Worst Movies Ever Made.
