Jerome M. Hesch is an attorney, professor, author and speaker on estate planning and taxation law. He is of counsel with Berger Singerman LLP in Miami, Florida[1] and is the Director of the Notre Dame Tax & Estate Planning Institute.[2]

Mr. Hesch was born in Buffalo, New York, in 1944. He attended the University of Michigan for his undergraduate and MBA degrees, and received a JD from the University of Buffalo Law School in 1970.[3]

Mr. Hesch spent 1970-1975 working for the Internal Revenue Service Office of Chief Counsel in Washington, D.C. He was a law professor from 1975-1994 at the Albany Law School and the University of Miami School of Law.[3]

He is currently an adjunct professor at both the University of Miami School of Law.[4] and Florida International University.[5] He is also a tax consultant for several law firms, including the Jeffrey M. Verdon Law Group in Newport Beach, California,[6] and Oshins and Associates in Las Vegas, Nevada.[7]

Mr. Hesch is a frequent lecturer on estate and tax planning topics, and has presented for the University of Miami Heckerling Institute on Estate Planning,[8] the USC Gould School of Law Tax Institute,[9] and the New York University School of Law Institute on Federal Taxation.[10]

He is a Fellow in the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel[11] and is listed with Best Lawyers in America.[12]

Mr. Hesch is the author of articles, tax management portfolios and books on estate planning and taxation, including a law school casebook.[13]
