Jeremy Strong (born 18 November 1949) is an English writer credited with about 80 children's books.[1][2]
Life and career
When he was three years old he fell out of a first floor window and landed on his head, he broke his right arm and spent a week in hospital. After an eventful childhood,[3] Strong left school in 1968 and studied English at York University. He held various vacation jobs, including at a bakery where he put the jam in doughnuts. After university he became a junior school teacher[4] and also began his writing career. He left teaching in 1991 and has been writing full-time ever since. He visits schools and festivals worldwide. His story There's A Viking In My Bed was made into a BBC children's TV series. A number of his books have won awards.[5]
