Jeremiah Joseph Stable

Jeremiah Joseph Stable (1883–1953) was the first Professor of English at the University of Queensland.[1] During World War 1, he joined the Australian Army and became an official censor. In that role, he was ordered to suppress the publication of Hansand due to the content of an anti-conscription speech by Queensland Premier T. J. Ryan.[2]
