Jeon Bo-ram (Hangul: 전보람; born March 22, 1986), is a South Korean idol singer and actress, and a member of girl group T-ara.

Biography

1986-2008: Early life

Boram was born on March 22, 1986.[1] Her father is Jeon Youngrok, who was a hugely popular singer in South Korea in the 70's and 80's. Her mother is Lee Mi-young, a well-known actress. She is a 3rd generation artist in Korea as both her Grandfather, Hwang Hae, and grandmother, Baek Sul Hee, were both famous singers. Her younger sister, Wooram, is a member of a Korean girl group called D-Unit.[2][3]

Boram has studied at the Myungji University, enrolling in the Dept. of Theatre and Visual Arts, same as group member Qri.

2008-2009: Career beginnings

Boram released one album and a single prior to her debut in T-ara. "From Memory" was released in November 14, 2008 and "Lucifer Project Vol 1. 愛" was released in April 15, 2008.

Boram was the first new member to be added to T-ara after two former members, Jiae and Jiwon, quit the group in mid-2009. She was contacted by the CEO of Core Contents Media after he watched a video clip of Boram dancing to BoA's "My Name".

It was announced on July 15, 2010 that she will take over Eunjung's position as the second leader of T-ara, following the addition of new member Hwayoung.[4]

In 2010, she was cast in a one-episode film of KBS's Purple Heeled Grim Reaper is Coming.

In 2011, she was involved in a musical called "I Really Really Like You" with her father. Boram passed on her leadership to fellow member Hyomin in July 2011.[5]
