Jelutong is a town in Penang, Malaysia in the outskirts of Georgetown, the capital of Penang. The main road leading to Jelutong town centre is Jalan Jelutong. As this is a predominantly residential area, the major areas of interest are its famous local food stalls. A new coastal highway connecting Georgetown to Bayan Lepas named the Jelutong Expressway has since been constructed to solve the traffic woes on the main Jalan Jelutong.

Karpal Singh Ram Singh or simply Karpal Singh was a Malaysian politician and a lawyer by profession who had partly made Jelutong a famous name in Malaysia. His reputation had earned him the nickname "Tiger of Jelutong". Jelutong once had two supermarkets named Suiwah (closed since 2006) and Sunshine Square (closed since 2010).

Jelutong has many famous schools. They are SJK(C) Jelutong, SK Jelutong and Heng Ee High School. Penang is also famous for its 'Tengas' (in Tamil means 'Coconuts'). Tengas are used predominantly during Thaipusam where Hindu devotees break coconuts to pay homage to Lord Muruga.
