Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (Sindhi: جيئي سنڌ قومي محاذ, JSQM) is a political party in the Pakistani state of Sindh that campaigns for the secession of Sindh from Pakistan.

The Jeay Sindh movement was formed in 1972 by G. M. Syed with the original intention to secede Sindh from Pakistan and form Sindhudesh. It was later renamed Jeay Sindh Mahz by militant groups. Sindhi separatists propagate the view that they are disenfranchised by Pakistan. They are of the opinion that Sindh in federal Pakistan goes against the rights and status promised during the Pakistan movement and in the Lahore resolution of 1940, according to which provinces of Pakistan were to be autonomous and sovereign and Pakistan would be a loose federation of various states.

Contemporary Sindhi nationalism stems primarily from water concerns. In 2004, the Musharraf led government formed a national water committee headed by veteran water and irrigation expert A.N.G Abassi. Mr. Abasi and his team, after a years's in depth research, validated Sindh’s concerns and suggested that the government avoid the construction of the proposed Kalabagh Dam.

The JSQM has held at least three massive people’s rallies called the Sindh Freedom March in Karachi in 2009, 2012 and 2014, which were attended by hundreds of thousands Sindhis demanding freedom.[1][2][3] The recent Sindh Freedom March held in Karachi on March 23, 2014 was attended by more than five million Sindhis. Among the demands made they was the international community’s intervention for the freedom of Sindh.[3]

JSQM was led by Bashir Qureshi until his death on 7 April 2012. Bashir Qureshi according to JSQM was poisoned to death by the Pakistani intelligence agencies.[4] His Brother Maqssod Qureshi was also burned alive in 2014 by the intelligence agencies.[5]

After the death of Bashir Qureshi, JSQM was intermily led by Senior Vice Chairperson of the party Niaz Kalani & Syed Munir Hyder Shah Great grand son of mr SYED; however later Qureshi's son Sunnan Qurshi was selected as a Chairperson of the party, for which was debate within party as SYED always opposed this concept but later the senior leadership gave up on the policy of mr SYED .[6]

Several JSQM activists hitherto have been allegedly killed in the encounters by the Pakistani armed forces and thousands are claimed to be detained.[7][8]
