Jean Evrard Kouassi (born 25 September 1994) is an Ivorian footballer who plays as a Winger for Chinese Super League side Shanghai SIPG. He was a member of U-17 and the Côte d'Ivoire U-20.

Club career

Moossou F.C.

Jean Evrard Kouassi started his career with Ivorian club Moossou F.C.

HNK Hajduk Split

In January 2013, Kouassi joined the Croatian team Hajduk Split. After Kouassi showed big playing potential on the field during the club trials he was offered a 3-year contract with Hajduk which he signed. He made his debut against Slaven Belupo in 16 February 2013.[2] Kouassi became a favourite of the fans thanks to his amazing speed,dribling and dedication to the game.

On April 21, 2013 Kouassi scored in a draw against Slaven Belupo marking the 4000th jubilee championship goal for HNK Hajduk Split.[3] Kouassi amazed the fans again when he scored and assisted for a goal against Lokomotiva in the 2012–13 Croatian Cup final. In May 2013 he won the Croatian Cup.

Shanghai SIPG F.C.

Chinese Super League team Shanghai SIPG F.C. annnounced that Kouassi has joined the squad in February 2015 and signed a contract until 2017.

International career

Kouassi was named in the Ivorian squad for the 2011 African U-17 Championship. He scored in the game against Gambia on 15 January 2011.[4] He was also named in the Ivorian squad for the 2011 FIFA U-17 World Cup. He played in all four games before the Ivorians were eliminated from the competition by France in the round of 16.[1]

He gave his debut for the U-20 Ivory Coast team on September 9, 2013 in which he scored one goal.
