Jay Reynolds is a British music producer, songwriter and musician. He is best known for his work with Just Jack, including the #2 hit single "Starz in Their Eyes", which was nominated for an Ivor Novello Award for Most Played Song of 2007. His other credits include Pixie Lott,[1] Paloma Faith, McFly, Kylie Minogue, The Strypes, The Hoosiers, The Vamps, Shack and Bipolar Sunshine.

Career

Jay is a Producer/writer/mixer who has 17 years of experience in making records. He started at The Townhouse Studios when he was just 16 and worked his way through the ranks working alongside a wealth of successful artists and producers such as Elton John, Pulp, BB King, INXS, and Jeff Beck.

After leaving Townhouse Jay forged a partnership with legendary producer Hugh Padgham and together they had a string of successes with many bands including McFly giving them two #1 albums and seven top ten hits (including singles "Obviously", "I'll Be OK", the hit Comic Relief single All About You and "Room on the 3rd Floor" taken from the album of the same name plus the successful album Wonderland.

Jay engineered and mixed albums and singles for Jools Holland, Sonique, Beverley Knight, The Beautiful South, David Sneddon.

In 2006 Jay had released his first project as a solo producer, he collaborated with then unsigned Jack Allsop (aka Just Jack) and together they recorded seven tracks including the massive hit song "Starz in their Eyes". Jack was subsequently picked up by Mercury and the album Overtones was released followed by All Night Cinema including hit singles "Embers" and "The Day I Died".

Jay went on to produce albums for Shack's Here's Tom with the Weather and Paul Heaton's Cross Eyed Rambler. He has also produced and additionally produced many other hit singles for artists such as Paloma Faith with "Upside Down" and Pixie Lott with "Broken Arrow", The Hoosiers album The Illusion of Safety. L Marshall feat. Little Nikki single "Castles" and tracks from the "Kiss The Fire" mix tape.

Jay is currently producing and mixing singles for Pixie Lott, The Vamps, Bipolar Sunshine, Jetta, The Strypes and the debut album for Irish band Raglans

Long Island Studios

Jay built a professional recording studio "Long Island Studios" in West London which houses an SSL Mixing Desk and has a large control room and live room. It serves as a great place to write, record and mix.
