The discography of Korean-American singer Jay Park consists of one studio album, eight singles and several EPs.
Park's highly anticipated solo career began less than a year after he left South Korean idol group 2PM, and his surge back into the spotlight began with his cover of "Nothin' on You", with rap and lyrics written by himself, filmed in his bathroom and uploaded onto his YouTube account.[1][2] This led Warner Music Korea to release his first EP, Count on Me (Korean: 믿어줄래; Revised Romanization: Mideojullae). The EP peaked at number-one on the Gaon chart.
In 2011, Park released his first Korean mini-album Take a Deeper Look, consisting of seven songs, mainly written and composed by himself.[3] In the United States, the album debuted at number-three on the Billboard World Albums chart[4][5] and at number-twenty six on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart[5] though no promotions were made there. The mini-album sold over 50,000 copies in 5 days upon its release on April 27, 2012.[6] On January 11, 2012, Park received the Disk Bonsang for his mini-album Take a Deeper Look on the first day of the 26th Golden Disk Awards, and was the only solo artist to receive the Disk Bonsang among the other Bonsang winners.[7]
In 2012, Park released his first full-length Korean album New Breed, and sold over 80,000 copies in a month.[8] The album debuted at number-four on the Billboard World Albums chart[9] and at number-sixteen on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart[10] though no promotions were made in the United States of America. The album peaked at number-one twice on the Gaon chart, while the lead single of the first part of the album "Star" (Korean: 별; Revised Romanization: Byeol) and the lead single of the full album "Know Your Name" both peaked at number-one on several online charts.[11][12][13] Park released an English mixtape, Fresh Air: Breathe It, in a run up to his APAHM tour in the USA. The mixtape became the first mixtape by an Asian artist to have gold status on DatPiff by surpassing 100,000 downloads.[14]
Early in 2013, Park released a free-download English rap track, "Appetizer", produced by Cha Cha Malone, in addition to a music video on his YouTube channel.[15] In April 2013, Park released a digital single, "Joah", containing 3 tracks, the title track "Joah" produced by Cha Cha Malone, a rap track featuring Dok2, and "Welcome" also produced by Cha Cha Malone.[16] The single instantly dominated charts upon its release.[17]
