Javier Krahe de Salas is a Spanish singer that has been active since 1980.

Biography

Krahe was born in distrito de Salamanca, Madrid.[1][2] He studied at Colegio del Pilar. At university he studied Ciencias empresariales, but he resign it, instead he decided to work in movies production as productor assistant.

While he was doing his military service, he meet her future Wife, Annick, he travel with her to Canadá, where he start working as writer, knowing Georges Brassens y Leonard Cohen work. His brother, Jorge give music to his lyrics. He wrote some songs interpreted by artists such Rosa León.

He went back to Spain, there Chicho Sánchez Ferlosio he help him to work in places like "La Aurora", where he meet Joaquín Sabina and Alberto Pérez. As trío they record La mandrágora, album that use the name of one of the places that they use to play in those days. He also work in TVE in "Si yo fuera presidente.

Discography

In Javier Krahe's first album Valle de lágrimas (1980) we can se his characteristic stile of ironic lyrics, smart lyrics, simple music. In further discs it tends to move to jazz. In this way Krahe to be a usual artist at Madrid's Café Central.[3]
