Jassi Gill is an Indian Singer and Actor of Punjabi origin. His birth name is Jasdeep Singh Gill. He was born in a Jatt,[1] Sikh Family in Jandali village near Khanna, Ludhiana. He rose to instant fame with his hit song "Chudiyan" from his debut album Bachmate. In 2014 he will be making his debut as an actor in Punjabi Cinema with three movies, a first for any actor. Biography

He had no inclination for making a career as a singer, it was while studying as a student at Gobindgarh College that his teacher noticed his musical talent when he took up music as a practical subject to increase his marks, he then trained and pushed Jassi for youth festivals where he came second 4 times in a row.[2] Since then Jassi's love for music grew and in a short span of time he created a mark for himself as Punjabi singer,.

Music career

He made his debut in 2011 with the album Bachmate which went on to became an instant success with the hit song "Chudiyan" winning everyone's hearts. In 2012 he followed up this up by releasing the single "Vigre Sharabi" which expanded his image with the youth. In January 2013 he released his second album Bachmate 2 which went on to become an even bigger hit than the previous album and his song Lancer became one of the biggest hits of the year. He then followed this up with the hit song "Classmate" that featured in the movie Daddy Cool Munde Fool.[3] In September 2013 he came out with another single Pyar Mera which too went on to carve a place for itself in the hearts of millions worldwide.[4]

Film career

He didn't plan his career in films but because of his instant success as a singer he got many offer's and in 2014 he is all set to make his debut as an actor in Punjabi Cinema with not one but three films, a rare feat for any debut actor. He makes his debut on the big screen in the madcap ensemble comedy Mr and Mrs 420 co starring Yuvraj Hans, Binnu Dhillon, Babbal Rai and Jaswinder Bhalla. He follows this up by playing the younger brother to legendary actor and singer Gurdas Mann in his home production Dil Vil Pyar Vyar that also features an ensemble cast including Neeru Bajwa and many others. And then finally he pairs up with Roshan Prince and Simran Kaur Mundi in the naughty romantic comedy Mundeyan Ton Bachke Rahin.[5] Jassi Gill signed Punjabi film with Gauhar Khan in Feb 2015. Gauhar Khan will be first time acting in a punjabi film. She is being tutored punjabi by Jassi Gill. [6]
