Jason Pinizzotto (born January 13, 1980) in Toronto, ON Canada is a Canadian professional ice hockey winger/centre begins the 2013-14 Season with Bad Nauheim Red Devils in the 2.Bundesliga. [1]
He has proven he is a strong contender and a natural offensive player having charted a career 272 points in 264 regular season games and 70 post season games with an additional 60 points in his previous 4 Seasons with the . He has participated in 4 championship finals over 6 years. [2][3]
Pinizzotto spent 4 years with the Schwenninger Wild Wings organization in the German Hockey League (2.GBun) where he signed in 2009 as a free agent after playing 2 years in the DEL German Ice Hockey League.[4] During his time he played a total of 181 games capturing 168 points with 85 goals, 83 assists and 240 penalty minutes in regular season play. His stats remained high in playoff run in 51 games gaining 29 goals, 13 assists and 91 penalty minutes.[5][6]
In 2008-09 he signed with the Hamburg Freezers in the elite Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL) however suffered an injury ending his season early after only 21 games. Pinizzotto signed his first DEL contract as a free agent in 2007 with the DEG Metro Stars - Düsseldorf in the elite Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL) where he played 56 games after completing 2 seasons with the Bremerhaven REV and securing 54 goals and adding 50 assists for 104 points in 83 regular season games.
Jason was a 3rd Round OHL draft in 1997 with the Barrie Colts playing for them in 1997-98 and with the Toronto St. Michael's Majors in 1998-99. In 2000-01, he dropped down to the OPJHL and tore up the league as the Top Scoring Leading with the Couchiching Terriers scoring 54 goals and adding 86 assists for 140 points in just 49 regular season game before heading to York University where he played for 4 season in the Canadian University system and continued to hit the charts with 50 goals and adding 65 assists for 115 points in 102 regular season games and averaging a point a game over the 4 years. He turned professional after completing his degree.

Hockey career
In 1996 Jason began his career with the OHA Ontario Provincial Jr A Oakville Blades (OPJHL) as an underage player at 16 years old. He led the team with 21 goals adding 30 assists for 51 points in 47 games. It wasn't long before he caught the eye of several OHL Scouts who were keen on drafting him. By 1997 he was drafted in the 3rd round by the OHL Barrie Colts. During his first season with Barrie, he spent time with their affiliate team Couchiching Terriers and continued to rack up the points and show a dominating force on the offensive side. On returning to Barrie, Jason suited up to play but found limited playing opportunity. In 1998 Jason went to the St. Michael's Majors where he finished the season with 10 goals and adding 14 assists for 24 points. Pinizzotto decided to return to Couchiching (OPJHL) where he finished his season with 8 points and 15 assists and 23 points in only 15 games. As a natural offensive player with a keen eye, accuracy and great hands, Jason remained with Couchiching and lit up the League with 140 Points in only 49 games having 54 goals and 86 assists.[8] He was one of the 2 Top Goal Scorers with over 50 goals in a season in the Ontario Junior Hockey League in his final year before heading to York University, Toronto. Pinizzotto played OUA Hockey for the York University Lions where he became the Rookie of the year. In 2001-2002 season, he led the team to an OUA Mid-West Division Championship and took part in the CIS National Championships. In 2002, the York Lions took part in the Bell Cup for their first time in history. 2003-04 OUA Championship and again by 2004 season the team once again won the Queen's Cup. [10][11]
After 4 years with York Lions, with over a point a game 117 points in 102 games and securing his university degree, Jason left to play in the 2005-06 season in the Bundesliga League in Germany. His first two seasons in Germany were spent in the Bundesliga for Bremerhaven BEV Fischtown Pinguins. He picked up 33 points in 31 games in his first season and 71 pints in 52 games in his second season which led to a position in the DEL - Germany's elite hockey league.
In 2007-08 Pinizzotto signed with the DEG Metro Stars in the DEL. The team moved their way to the semi-finals. The Hamburg Freezers welcomed Pinizzotto to their Roster in 2008-09 .[12] In the 2009-10 season Pinizzotto signed with the Schwenninger Wild Wings in the Bundesliga. His first year with 36 points in 38 games helped lead the team to a 1st place finish in the 14 team league during regular season.
Jason made headlines in Germany with his active offensive skills. His German descent makes him a fan favourite.[13]
August 2010, Jason has 491 career points in 484 games.
Jason lead the SERC Wild Wings in 2013 season with 25 goals and 22 assists in 48 games plus 9 goals and 3 assists in 16 playoff games. He has been a Top Scorer in the League for the last 5 years and shows tremendous leadership skills. Jason is an immensely important offensive role player.[15]
