Jason Chan Chi-san (born 12 December 1977) is a British-born Hong Kong actor and television presenter. He first gained recognition for hosting a variety of English Pearl television documentaries, and is known for his fluency in five languages: English, Cantonese, Mandarin, French, and Latin.

Life and career

Chan was born in London to a Hakka family in the United Kingdom. He is the second oldest of four children. His eldest brother is a dentist and youngest brother is still in university. In the UK, Chan's family runs a Chinese restaurant. Chan went to the same primary school as Harry Potter actor, Daniel Radcliffe, the school being Sussex House in London, an independent school for boys. Chan claims that he had his first love at the age of 21. Chan received a bachelor's degree on Ancient and Modern Chinese literature at the School of Oriental and African Studies, and a master's degree in economics at the University of London.^[1] After graduation, Chan worked in a management position at a hospital, but quit his job soon after deciding on an entertainment career in Hong Kong. In his first year in Hong Kong, Chan worked as an English tutor at his aunt's cram school. In 2004, Chan joined TVB and graduated from TVB's 20th Artist Training Class in 2006, subsequently signing a management contract with the company. For several years, Chan hosted many television documentaries on Pearl and was a news reporter on TVB Entertainment News, simultaneously filming for TVB's television dramas in minor roles. In 2010, Chan was offered his first major role in the sitcom, Be Home for Dinner (2011). In 2012, he was given his first leading role in the drama Missing You.

Since 2009, he is rumoured to be dating 2007 Miss Chinese International winner Sarah Song, who lives at different towers within the same residential complex. 10 August 2014, Sarah had posted a photo of herself and Jason Chan. The two were on a dinner together as a celebration of Sarah Song's 29th birthday. In the photo, the sweet couple were smiling happily as the former Miss China International contestant wraps her hand across the Jason's shoulders.

Sarah Song captioned her photo, saying, "Thank you for another birthday. More wonderful birthdays ahead...but hopefully not wrinkles."

This post was then regarded by the public as her confirmation that she is in fact in a relationship with Jason Chan.
