Jarvis of Wimbledon
Jarvis & Sons Limited based at Wimbledon were south London Morris and MG dealers who also provided special bodies for these cars until after World War II.
Their business is reported to date from the late 19th century as bicycle manufacturers. Coachbuilding operations are reported to have begun in the 1920s.
Their nameplate also appears on cars with very expensive bodies, including Rolls-Royce and Bentley (Cricklewood) but these may have been subcontracted to other businesses, in particular Abbey Coachworks Limited of Merton.
Their nameplate states:
- Coachwork designed & built by
- Jarvis & Sons Ltd
- Wimbledon S.W.19
- Phone 2526
