The Japan Innovation Party (維新の党 Ishin no Tō) is a Japanese political party. It was launched on 22 September 2014 following the merger of the Japan Restoration Party headed by Tōru Hashimoto, and the Unity Party, headed by Kenji Eda.
Leaders
The Japan Innovation Party was initially led by Kenji Eda and Osaka city mayor Tōru Hashimoto. In December 2014 Hashimoto announced his resignation from the role in order to focus on the mayoral election scheduled for the spring of 2015. Eda remained as sole leader of the party.[1]
