Janephal is a village in Mehkar tehsil in Buldhana district, Maharashtra, India. It is situated on Maharashtra State Highway 171 between Khamgaon and Mehkar.Janephal is a Historical place. It is small town with vibrent colurs. The town is planned with wide roads with drainge system, which is rare in rular area. Sahitya Akademi award winner author Sadanand Deshmukh belongs to this village. Janephal, a happy village, is situated in the picturesque down hills of Ajanta in Buldana district. Janephal has historical references in Maratha history. It also boasts for an ancient Swami Mukund Avadhutanand Temple, Amba Mata Temple and traditionally celebrated Navaratri Utsav. Astronomically revered "Saptarshi" guru's temples are also located around Janephal. Incidentally Janephal is also famous for "Bail-Bazar" held on every Saturday. Asaram Bhavan: A nice building built by prominent Gattani family on the name of their ancestor who has migrated from Rajasthan. The building has a good facility to conduct the various cultural and religious programs. Janephal is having the history dated back to Shri Shivaji Maharaj. The town is exiting before the Lahuji Jadhav`s era. The two stone gates (Vesh) are still existing and one fort like gadhi is still existing in the village.

Prominent farmer of Janephal, Mr. Pravin Bhagwandas Gattani has been honored by Government of Maharashtra by bestowing the "Udayan Pandit"[1] award in 2009 in grand function held at Nagpur in presence of Governor, Chief Minister and other dignitaries from state.
