Jane Milmore

Jane Milmore is an American playwright and actress.

Personal life

Jane Milmore was born on March 25 in Laramie, Wyoming to Joan Marie Judge and John Edward Milmore. She is of Irish descent. One of five girls including romance author Kaitlin O'Riley and actress Jennifer Milmore. Author Greg Malins is her brother-in-law. She was raised in NY and NJ attending St Patricks in Brooklyn and graduating Keansburg High School in New Jersey.[1]

Career

Jane Milmore is one of the most prolific female playwrights with over twenty plays co-written with Billy Van Zandt and published with Samuel French, Inc. She has written and produced numerous television shows including Newhart, Anything But Love, Nurses, Martin, Daddy Dearest, The Wayans Brothers, Bless This House, The Hughleys, Yes Dear, and Center of the Universe. She has won both a People's Choice and a NAACP award for the Martin Lawrence series Martin, a Prism Award for The Hughleys and was nominated for an Emmy for the CBS special "I Love Lucy the Very First Show." As an actress she has appeared in numerous TV series including Newhart, The Hughleys and California Fever. The TV movies "If Things Were Different" with Suzanne Pleshette and "Desperate Lives" with Helen Hunt. And the feature film "A Wake in Providence". She also performs in the play "You've Got Hate Mail" at the Triad Theatre in NYC.
