Jane McIvor

Frances Jane McIvor (born 22 October 1959) is a British District judge.[1]

The daughter of the Ulster Unionist politician Basil McIvor and his wife Jill McIvor, she graduated with an LLB from the University of East Anglia in 1982, and was called to the bar at the Inner Temple in 1983. She has been a District judge since 2001.

She has been frequently involved in the high profile case of the rock singer Pete Doherty, fining him £770 and banning him from driving for four month in December 2006 for drugs possession,[2] and fining him a further £300 and banning him from driving for an additional two months in February 2007.[3] However, she later praised him for his efforts to fight his drug addiction.[4]
