Jandala, Poonch
Coordinates: 33°58′N 73°39′E / 33.96°N 73.65°E Jandala is a village in the Rawalakot Tehsil of the Poonch District of Azad Kashmir (the area of Kashmir administered by Pakistan). It is in the north east of the district,[1] in the hills above the Jhelum Valley. The district was affected by a major earthquake (7.6 on the Richter scale) in October 2005,[2] and suffered from flooding in July 2006.[3]
The main language spoken is Pahari. Schools are the government High School,the Nishter Public School Jandala and the Nishter inter college for girls and boys.[4] Usually the population is served by the Arja Rural Health Center in Bagh.Main caste or tribe is Mughal while other clans are Abbasi,Syed,Lohar(Awan) also exist there[5][6] The most common drink is chai. The main religion is Sunni Islam. Many of popoular Personalities are Colonel.Rtd.Sardar Aziz khan.Sardar Mumtaz Hussain Khan(JKMC),Dr.Arshad Isaq,Allam Zubair Hashmi,Sardar Khan Bahadur Khan,S.M Arif khan,sardar Auranzeb Abbasi(JKMC),Ms.Naseera Badar (PPP) Shakeel Anjum Kashmiri,Zulfiqar Shaheen,Prof.Figaar Hussein,Sardar Munawar Inqalabi also Sardar Tahir Majeed Khan most youngest political/social figure of PTI (Pakistan Tehreek-e- Insaf), serving the party & its think tanks ,a columnist & a debater too,member Human Rights & Interfaith Harmony. others are Sardar Jamil Maqsud (UKPNP), Mufti Dawud Hanif,Sardar Shouqat Hussein(Advocate),Dr.Naseer Ahmed Khan & Sardar Maqsud Chughtai.
