Jan Wierix (1549 – ca. 1620), was a Flemish engraver and an important member of the Wierix family of engravers.
Biography
He was born in Antwerp and became an engraver along with his brothers Hieronymous and Antoine.[1][2] He was hired along with Dominicus Lampsonius to work for Volcxken Diericx in her publishing company Aux Quatre Vents when he engraved the prints for Pictorum aliquot celebrium Germaniae inferioris effigies in 1572. He died in Brussels.[1]
