Jan Bugge-Mahrt

Jan Bugge-Mahrt (born 1954) is a Norwegian diplomat.

In 2004 he was appointed as the Norwegian ambassador to Saudi Arabia.[1] The relations between Norway and Saudi Arabia are considered important, because of the shared emphasize on petroleum in the countries' economies.[2] Since 2005 he is also the ambassador to Oman and Yemen.[3][4]

Before becoming an ambassador, he held other posts in the diplomatic hierarchy, including counsellor of embassy in Belgium[5] and assistant secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.[6] In 2010 he was appointed as head of department in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.[7]
