Jan Anderson (scientist)

Jan Mary Anderson FRS (born 1932) is a scientist from New Zealand, distinguished by her investigation of photosynthesis. She was the first to show that the photosynthetic mechanism comprises two fundamental components: photosystem I and photosytem II.[1] Anderson is currently an Adjunct Professor at the Australian National University.[2]

She has received many honors and awards for her work, including election as a fellow of the Australian Academy of Science in 1987, and as a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1996.[3]
