Jan-Krzysztof Duda (born 26 April 1998) is a Polish chess grandmaster. He achieved his GM title in 2013 at the age of 15 years and 21 days, becoming the second youngest grandmaster in the world after Wei Yi.[2] In 2014, Duda represented Poland during the Chess Olympiad in Tromso, Norway, scoring 8.5/11.[3] In December he won the European Rapid Chess Championship[4] and also claimed silver during European Blitz Championship,[5] both held in Wrocław, Poland.
Chess career
In 2012 Duda won the Polish U18 Championship in Solina[6] and tied for 1st with Jan Krejci in the Olomouc Chess Summer tournament.[7] In 2013 he came first in the First Saturday GM tournament in Budapest.[8] Duda took part in the Chess World Cup 2013, but was eliminated in the first round by Vassily Ivanchuk.[9]
In 2014, he scored 4/9 at Qatar Masters.[10]
