Club career
A product of São José youth system, Jamir gained notability while playing for Grêmio and Botafogo where he was coached by Paulo Autuori. In the summer of 1996, Jamir reunited with Autuori at Benfica for 1.3M dollars, but rarely played as Amaral was regular starter.[1][2][3] He later played for Alverca, and several other clubs, ending his career in 2005.
