James G. Taylor was a member of the New Mexico House of Representatives from 1994 through 2004. He was also an appointed Democratic member of the New Mexico Senate, representing the 14th District. He was appointed in 2004. He lost in 2008 to current State Senator Eric Griego in the Democratic primary.[1] After losing the primary he filed a lawsuit trying to get a court to overturn the results of the election.[2]
