James Swanwick

James Swanwick (born 1975 or 1976) [1] is an Australian-American entrepreneur and motivational coach based in Hollywood, California. Swanwick is the podcast host for The James Swanwick Show and Date Top 10 Men with James, is a former ESPN "SportsCenter" anchor and award-winning journalist with over 20 years experience. He is the author of two books and has interviewed A-List celebrities for leading British, American and Australian newspapers. Swanwick is also the co-founder an owner of the international media agency Crocmedia and has lived in numerous countries including Australia, the United Kingdom, Argentina and Uruguay.

Early life

Swanwick was born in Bacchus Marsh, Australia but grew up in Brisbane, Australia. He was educated at the Anglican Church Grammar School[2] and earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Queensland in 1998, specializing in government and history.

Podcast Host

Swanwick hosts The James Swanwick Show and Date Top 10 Men with James, which both support men and women in the areas of health, wealth, relationships and happiness, through interviews with world-class mentors including New York Times best-selling authors. Guests include New York Times best-selling authors, millionaires, celebrity personal trainers and relationship experts.

TV Presenter

Swanwick is best known as a former anchor on ESPN’s “Sportscenter”, the Australia and New Zealand version, which is produced out of ESPN’s global headquarters in Bristol, Connecticut.

Author

Swanwick is author of two books. How to Become a Celebrity Journalist (2009) was sold online and became popular with journalism students. The book teaches students how to get a career in celebrity journalism, based on Swanwick's seven years as a Hollywood correspondent from 2003-2010. In the book, Swanwick tells of stories of interviewing Hollywood stars including Nicole Kidman, Matthew McConaughey, Russell Crowe, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Aniston, Michael Douglas, Jamie Foxx and Lindsay Lohan.[1] His second book, Insider Journalism Secrets (2012) teaches people how to get a job in journalism.

Swanwick co-founded and owns international media agency, Crocmedia, which he started with fellow journalist Craig Hutchison which is based in Melbourne, Australia.

Journalist

Swanwick has had a long career as a print, TV and radio journalist. He began his career in 1993 as a reporter at The Courier-Mail in Brisbane, Australia where he covered business, finance, politics, industrial relations, police, TV and entertainment and sport. Swanwick then moved to London in 1999 where he reported for Sky Sports, covering the 1999 Rugby World Cup, Cricket World Cup, several Wimbledon tennis championships and the British Open. He moved to Los Angeles in 2003 as a Hollywood entertainment correspondent, writing for leading newspapers and magazines throughout Australia and Britain. He appeared on several TV and radio shows. Swanwick interviewed Hollywood stars including Nicole Kidman, Matthew McConaughey, Russell Crowe, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Aniston, Michael Douglas, Jamie Foxx and Lindsay Lohan. In 2010, he began his career at ESPN hosting SportsCenter.

Awards

Swanwick won the prestigious Queensland Media Award in 1996 for his interview and expose on Pauline Hanson, one of Australia’s most publicized and controversial political figures.
