James Morrell

James Herbert Lloyd Morrell (or Lloyd Morrell) (1907–1996) was the seventh Bishop of Lewes.[1][2]
Morrell was born on 12 August 1907[3] and educated at Dulwich College and King's College London.[4] He began his career with curacies at St Alphage, Hendon and St Michael and All Angels, Brighton after which he was the Bishop of Chichester's Chaplain and then a Lecturer for The Church of England Moral Welfare Council. From here he went to be Vicar of Roffey [5] and then Archdeacon of Lewes before elevation to the Episcopate in 1959,[6] serving eventually for eighteen years.[7] He died on 28 March 1996.[8]
