James Low

James Low (born 9 March 1894, date of death unknown) was a Scottish footballer. He played for Elgin City, Hearts,[1] Rangers and Newcastle United as a right winger. Low also represented the Scottish League twice.[2] He was born in Ayrshire.

Low played for Hearts either side of the First World War.[1] During the war he was a 2nd Lieutenant in the 6th Battalion of the Seaforth Highlanders. Low played 123 games and scored 8 goals for Newcastle United between 1921 to 1928. It was said that James could easily beat two men at a time and he became a favourite of the Geordie fans. He was an FA Cup winner for them in 1924.
