James Cohan Gallery
The James Cohan Gallery is a prominent contemporary art gallery located in Manhattan, New York. Since 2008, it has also had a branch space in Shanghai.
History
In September 1999, James Cohan Gallery opened on West 57th Street with an inaugural exhibition of early work by Gilbert and George. In 2002, the gallery moved to its present location at 533 West 26th Street in Chelsea. The gallery maintains a diverse exhibition program with one or two thematic group exhibitions per year in addition to the solo exhibitions of gallery artists.
James Cohan Gallery established a new gallery space in Shanghai in July 2008. It is located in the heart of the French Concession and occupies the ground floor of 1930s villa set inside of a lane on Yueyang Road.[1]
