James Addison Ingle
James Addison Ingle (Chinese: 殷徳生; pinyin: Yīn Déshēng) was an American missionary to China, born on March 11, 1867 in Frederick, Maryland. A graduate of the Episcopal High School of Virginia at Alexandria, Virginia, and Virginia Theological Seminary, he was ordained to the priesthood by Bishop William Paret on June 7, 1891.
Episcopal mission in China
Ingle was the first bishop of the American Episcopal Church to be consecrated in China, following his election as first bishop of Missionary District of Hankow. Ingle's principal consecrator was Frederick Rogers Graves. Ingle was succeeded by Logan Herbert Roots.
