Jalesar is a town and a municipal board in Etah district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is connected by road to other towns such as Hathras, Etah, Aligarh and it is approx 55 km from Khair.

Geography

Jalesar is located at 27°29′N 78°19′E / 27.48°N 78.32°E.[1] It has an average elevation of 173 metres (567 feet).

Demographics

As of 2001 India census,[2] Jalesar had a population of 35,662. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Jalesar has an average literacy rate of 48%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 54%, and female literacy is 40%.

There are so many temples in Jalesar.some famous Temples are:-

Hanuman Mandir:-Hanuman Mandir is the oldest and most famous temple in the city which is situated in MahaviGanj near MGM inter college. It is the temple of Hanuman ji which fulfils the wishes of the worshippers.

Pathawari Mandir:-This is the most famous mandir of goddess "DURGA".On the occasion of Navrate this mandir decorates beautifully & there is a huge crowd of people comes for worship.

Shanidev Mandir:-situated on dargah road near sarasawti vidya mandir.

Chinta Haran Mandir:-situated near to government hospital nala bazar.

Lakshmi-Narayana Mandir:- Over 35 year old mandir, situated opposite to government hospital nala bazar. Famous Temple of God "VISHNU"(Narayana) and Goddess "LAKSHMI". Only mandir in middle of the town which have "SAI BABA" statue.

Radha Krishna Mandir:-situated in mohalla pansariyan bara bazar.

Ganga Mandir:-near bara bazar churaha.

Jain Temple :-This is the oldest Temple of jain religion which is situated in sherGanj.

Tourism

Patna Bird Sanctuary is a lovely place to visit. Jalesar is a town of brass and famous for its 'Pital Udhyog'. Jalesar is known for its cast bells, the major component of whose brass is iron . A famous Hanuman Mandir is situated at Ganj area of Jalesar. URS MELA is a famous MELA which is being organised every year at Dargah area of Jalesar.
