Jakob Finci

Jakob Finci

Jakob Finci (born October 1, 1943 in Rab concentration camp) is a prominent Bosnian Jew and a former Bosnia and Herzegovina's ambassador to Switzerland. He is considered to be the de facto leader of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Jewish community.

He also runs the charity Benevolencija.[1]

He and Dervo Sejdić, a prominent Bosnian Roma and member of Bosnia's Roma Council, have launched an appeal to the European Court of Human Rights on the basis that Bosnia's Constitution violates the European Convention on Human Rights. A judgement was handed down in their favor in September 2009.[2] See Sejdić and Finci v. Bosnia and Herzegovina.
