Jake Alexander Hesketh (born 27 March 1996)[2] is an English footballer who plays as a midfielder for Southampton.

Club career

At Southampton from the age of 8, Hesketh signed his first professional contract on 6 May 2014 following a season in which he was the Under-18 team's top scorer.[3]

He was promoted into the first team by coach Ronald Koeman due to injury problems among the squad.[4] He made his debut for the club on 8 December 2014 in a match against Manchester United, being brought in as a substitute for Dušan Tadić in the 70th minute of the 1–2 home defeat.[5] Five days later he started for the first time, but was substituted injured after 32 minutes as Southampton lost 0–1 away to Burnley.[6]
