Jake Canuso
Jake Canuso (born Carmine Canuso on 13 January 1970) is a Swiss actor and dancer, who is best known for his role in the Benidorm-based British TV series Benidorm, in which he plays barman Mateo Castellanos.
Early life
Canuso was born near Zurich, Switzerland, to immigrants from southern Italy. Canuso speaks 6 languages.[1] Canuso is fluent in English, German, Spanish, French, Swiss-German and Italian.
He was once in a devastating tsunami in Thailand.
Career
Previously a dancer, Canuso appeared dressed as a ballet dancer in the music video for 'No More I Love Yous' by Annie Lennox and also appeared in the video of Alex Party's 1995 hit single 'Don't Give Me Your Life'.
Canuso stars in the ITV comedy series Benidorm, playing barman Mateo Castellanos.
In January 2013, Canuso participated in ITV diving show Splash!, hosted by Tom Daley.
