Jaintiapur (Bengali: জৈন্তাপুর, Jotyintapur) is an Upazila of Sylhet District in the Division of Sylhet, Bangladesh.
Geography
Jaintiapur is located at 25°07′30″N 92°07′00″E / 25.1250°N 92.1167°E . It has 16,719 units of house hold and total area 258.69 km².
Demographics
As of the 1991 Bangladesh census, Jaintiapur has a population of 98,270. Males constitute 51.02% of the population, and females 48.98%. This Upazila's eighteen up population is 45,998. Jaintiapur has an average literacy rate of 21.1% (7+ years), and the national average of 32.4% literate.[1] Religions: Muslim 81.2%, Hindu 15.9%, Buddhist 0.6%, Christian 0.4% and others 0.9%
