Jaime Ramón Molina Mata (born 15 June 1969) is a Spanish retired footballer who played as a defender, and a current manager.
Club career
Born in Estepona, Málaga, Andalusia, Molina graduated with CD Málaga's youth setup. He made his senior debuts with the reserves in 1986, aged only 17.
On 10 January 1988 Molina made his professional debut, starting in a 3–1 home win against Deportivo de La Coruña.[1] He finished the campaign with six appearances, as his side was promoted to La Liga.
Molina was promoted to the main squad in the 1989 summer, and made his debut in the Spanish top level on 2 October 1988, starting in a 1–1 draw at Sevilla FC.[2] He featured regularly during the following seasons, leaving the club in 1992 after it folded.
Molina subsequently played in the first and second levels during his career, representing CA Marbella, CP Mérida (two stints), RCD Espanyol, UD Las Palmas and CD Numancia. He retired with the latter at the end of the 2004–05 campaign, aged 35, after appearing in 22 matches and scoring once.
Manager career
Shortly after retiring Molina started his managerial career, taking charge of Mérida UD.[3] He left the club in 2007,[4] and was appointed UD Los Barrios manager in 2008.[5]
On 5 July 2011, after a stint at CF Villanovense, Molina was named Atlético Malagueño manager.[6] In July of the following year he moved to Unión Estepona CF,[7] and subsequently returned to Marbella FC on 3 May 2013.[8]
