Jacquie Jordan
Jacquie Jordan is a film and television producer who has produced nearly ten thousand television segments over the span of a fifteen-year career.[1] [2]She spent three years as the co-executive producer of AMC's Sunday Morning Shootout, a weekly film industry talk show hosted by Variety magazine’s Editor-in-chief Peter Bart and ex-Sony chairman Peter Guber.[3] Jordan is a member of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and the Producers Guild of America.
Jordan became a media entrepreneur with the July 2000 launch of Jacquie Jordan Inc., a media consultancy company specializing in television producing/networking seminars and the development of individual media brands. In 2002, Jacquie Jordan Inc. spun off a sister company, TVGuestpert, which develops television personalities and connects them with producers looking for established media guests and commentators. The company also works with clients to develop their own content across a variety of media, from DVDs to books.[4]
Early life
Jordan grew up in New Jersey and graduated from the University of Delaware with a B.A. in Communications and a Minor in Theater.[5] She started her media career as a local New Jersey disc jockey for WSUS and as news reporter for WNNJ-FM and WNNJ. She later moved on to a position as an on-air reporter for WMBC-TV in the NY ADI market and hosted several public affairs programs.[5]
Career
By the age of 24, Jordan sold her first television program, a syndicated nightly news format, by pitching to several New Jersey cable stations. Her skills at networking and pitching would later develop into Jacquie Jordan Inc, a media consultancy firm and production company which offers clients a wide array of services and seminars on topics ranging from branding to promotion, marketing and development of programming and media profile building.[5]
Jordan has produced television programming for media mainstays Geraldo Rivera, Maury Povich, Donny and Marie Osmond, Bob Saget, Montel Williams and Cybill Shepherd. She had produced pilots and shows for Buena Vista, Sony, Tribune, Twentieth Television and Telepictures.
Sunday Morning Shootout
In 2003, Jordan was tapped as co-executive producer for AMC’s film industry talk show SUNDAY MORNING SHOOTOUT, hosted by Peter Bart and Peter Guber. Celebrity and Industry guests included Steven Spielberg, Clint Eastwood, Anthony Hopkins, Ben Kingsley, Vince Vaughn, Danny DeVito, Sherry Lansing, Terry Semel and Dustin Hoffman. Jordan ran the show for its first three years.[6]
In 2005, as executive producer, Jordan launched SQUARE-OFF, a Sunday Morning Shooutout style format for the TV Guide Network that focused on the television and cable industry. The show was hosted by Andy Wallenstien of the Hollywood Reporter and Brian Lowry, a critic for Variety.[7]
Media Consultancy
Jacquie Jordan Inc
Launched in 2000 as an umbrella company for several Jordan ventures: a media consultancy firm designed to help budding television personalities develop their careers and learn how to pitch themselves to television producers, a cross-platform media development company, as well as a film and television production company.[8] The media consultancy arm of Jacquie Jordan Inc develops clients’ individual brands, on-camera skills, professional profiles, demo reels, and press kits.[4]
TVGuestpert
In 2002, Jacquie Jordan Inc spun off TVGuestpert, and online media development company that functions as a bridge between a roster of television personalities and television producers across the nation. The company also develops and incubates nascent television talent and its branding consultancy services are available to anyone interested in a media career.[9] TVG's client roster specializes in diverse topics from law, forensics, and fashion, to alternative health, scrapbooking and real estate. [10] TVG's clients include former White House science consultant and Huffington Post columnist Jeff Schweitzer.
Media Seminars and Philanthropy
Via Jacquie Jordan Inc, Jordan has become a nationally recognized Media Consultancy Seminar Leader. Her company also offers charitable support to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, The Montel Williams MS Foundation, Project Cuddle, Healing the Children of California and the Leeza Gibbons Memory Foundation.
Printed Media
In 2006, Jordan wrote the book Get on TV! : The Insider’s Guide to Pitching the Producers and Promotion Yourself (published by Sourcebooks, Inc).[11] The nationally distributed book takes Jordan’s role as a television producer and a media consultant to printed format.[12][13]
2010 saw the publication of Jordan's second entrepreneurial business and media branding book, Heartfelt Marketing: Allowing the Universe to be Your Business Partner (published by BurmanBooks).[14] Also, 2010 saw the inauguration of TVGuestpert Publishing, previously known as Jacquie Jordan Inc. Publishing, which handles both TVGuestpert branded content, as well as non-fiction and fiction titles. [15]
In March 2015, TVGuestpert Publishing hit the New York Times Bestseller list for the first time for the book, "The Art of Having It All: A Woman's Guide to Unlimited Abundance" by Guestpert Christy Whitman.[16] "The Art of the Bestseller: Making its debut on our Trade Paperback list is The Art of Having It All, by Christy Whitman, at #13 with 7,913 units sold. Whitman’s publisher, TVGuestpert, is a media development company founded by TV producer, show runner, and talent booker Jacquie Jordan. Whitman’s book has already sold out on Amazon, so Jordan seems to have succeeded at her goal as laid out on the TVGuestpert website: “raising the profile of each guest expert and thereby growing the business and brand of each client.”"[17]
Recent Activity
In 2009, Jordan was set up by Sacha Baron Cohen, star of the international hit comedy Borat, for a scene in the mockumentary [18] comedy feature Brüno. Jordan realized that she was being set up for a bit of fun, but went along with the gag, which did not make the final movie.[19][20]
