John George "Jackie" Lane (born 10 November 1931) is an English former footballer.[1] He played more than 100 matches in the Football League for Birmingham City[2] and Notts County.[3]

Lane was born in Selly Oak, Birmingham. He began his football career with local club Boldmere St. Michaels before joining Birmingham City in 1949. He provided cover for any forward position, though preferred to play at inside forward, and contributed to the club winning the Second Division title in the 1954–55 season.[2] He also played one game in the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup.[4] After finishing his league career he played non-League football for Hinckley Athletic, scoring four goals in the club's first ever Southern League fixture,[5] Kidderminster Harriers and Evesham United.[2]
